Dedicated Wealth: Bing-Shen Hour for Bing and Ji-Si Hour for Jia
Dedicated Wealth (the role family controlled by the birth-day element, often interpreted through resources and practical demands) here means two specific day/hour arrangements, not an unusually high Wealth count: a Bing day with Bing-Shen hour, or a Jia day with Ji-Si hour. The first invokes Bing’s Lu at Si and its connection to Shen; the second exposes Jia’s Ji Direct Wealth (a traditional role associated with managing resources and ongoing responsibilities).
Where is the Wealth in each arrangement?
Shen contains Geng, Ren and Wu: Indirect Wealth (a traditional role associated with opportunities, exchange and wider connections), Killings and Eating God (a traditional role associated with creativity, expression and enjoyment) for Bing. Geng Wealth is actually present even without an implicit-branch theory. The passage additionally invokes Si–Shen contacts and repeated Bing stems.
At Ji-Si hour on a Jia day, exposed Ji is Direct Wealth. Si contains Bing Eating God, Wu Indirect Wealth and Geng Killings. Jia–Ji can be discussed as a stem combination without assuming transformation into Earth or calling every hidden stem (an additional element symbol traditionally assigned inside a lower chart symbol) Direct Wealth.
| Condition | Valid Hour Pillar | Main Wealth relation |
|---|---|---|
| Bing day, Shen hour | Bing-Shen | Geng Indirect Wealth in Shen; an additional Si–Shen source route |
| Jia day, Si hour | Ji-Si | Ji Direct Wealth exposed; Wu Indirect Wealth also hidden in Si |
Does invoking Si add a Si branch to the chart?
No. Bing’s Lu is Si; Si and Shen form a Six Combination and also participate in the Yin–Si–Shen punishment discussion. The passage uses these contacts for an interpretive route. The actual chart still contains only its calculated pillars.
A reading should state whether it adopts that implicit method and how it treats a two-branch contact versus the full punishment set. An absent Si is not a real Month Branch (the lower symbol in the birth-month column) or extra birth information.
What do the two source charts illustrate?
The first is Jia-Chen, Wu-Chen, Bing-Shen, Bing-Shen; the second Gui-You, Geng-Shen, Bing-Zi, Bing-Shen. The second changes the Day Branch (the lower symbol in the birth-day column) to Zi while retaining Bing-Shen hour, showing that the Bing-day condition is not restricted to the Bing-Shen day.
In the second, Gui is Bing’s Officer (the role family that controls the birth-day element, often interpreted through rules and demands) and Geng its Indirect Wealth. A blanket prohibition on visible Wealth and Officer borrowed from another implicit pattern would be wrong here. Both source charts have compatible year/month and day/hour sequences, without independently verifying their reported achievements.
Why examine self and Wealth after finding the arrangement?
The passage calls for support to both self and Wealth, comparing Wood-strong and Earth-strong months for Jia and Earth Wealth. A supported self and supported Wealth are separate requirements; matching an hour is not the whole assessment.
Dedicated Wealth does not test investment style or earning ability. Its useful role is to distinguish the two day/hour relations and their surrounding conditions.
