Dedicated Lu Requires Restraint: Six Geng Days at Xin-Si Hour
Dedicated Lu Requires Restraint is a specific Geng-day/Si-hour method. Si contains Bing Killings, Wu Indirect Resource (a traditional role associated with specialized learning and unconventional insight) and Geng Peer (a traditional role associated with independence and relationships among equals), and is Geng’s Birth stage. The passage then considers Ren/Gui Water restraining Bing Fire. Lu in the title is not simply Geng’s own Lu branch.
Why do all six Geng days have Xin-Si at Si hour?
The day-to-hour rule starts from the Day Stem, not a new starting point for each Day Branch. All six Geng days therefore have the same Xin-Si hour. Changing the Day Branch does not change the Hour Stem.

Where are Killings, Resource and roots in Xin-Si?
Hour Xin is Rob Wealth (a traditional role associated with shared resources, cooperation and competition) for Geng. Si contains Bing Killings, Wu Indirect Resource and Geng Peer. The passage’s Killings is hidden Bing, not exposed Xin.
Geng reaches Birth at Si and Official/Lu at Shen. A Geng root and Birth stage at Si do not make Si Geng’s Lu. Root, stage and Lu are distinct references.
How do Ren and Gui restrain Bing, and is more Water always better?
Ren is Geng’s Eating God (a traditional role associated with creativity, expression and enjoyment) and Gui Hurting Officer (a traditional role associated with independent expression and questioning rules). Both are Water, with the capacity to control Fire. Effective restraint of hidden Bing depends on exposure, roots, season and position; one Water character is insufficient.
More Water may not help when Fire is already light or Water drains Metal excessively. Wu Earth in Si also generates Metal and controls Water. Xin-Si is not a formula in which Fire is always bad and Water always good.
What is the value of this narrow rule?
It shows that one Hour Pillar (the two-symbol column for the birth hour) can contain both support and restraint, requiring hidden-stem (an additional element symbol traditionally assigned inside a lower chart symbol) explanation rather than a favorable-Lu slogan. It also exposes a calculation error: Si hours on Geng days should not have different stems.
Historical military imagery explains the naming context without establishing suitability for policing, sport or management. Career fit depends on abilities, interests and actual circumstances.
