Wealth in Storage: The Wealth-Phase Lookup and Xin-Wei Example
Wealth (the role family controlled by the birth-day element, often interpreted through resources and practical demands) in Storage links the Wealth phase to its storage branch. Metal controls Wood as Wealth, and Wood storage is Wei, explaining the source’s Xin-Wei example. Wei is not therefore Xin’s own Tomb, nor proof of existing assets.
Which intermediate reference gives the four source storage branches?
Earth’s Wealth storage at Chen means Earth controls Water and Water stores at Chen. It does not place the Earth self in its own Tomb. The passage lists four groups; an unstated Earth-storage convention should not be added to force a universal five-phase table.

Is the source’s birth season the same as peak seasonal strength?
No. Metal’s Birth image uses Si in summer, while its commanding season is autumn. Summer Birth does not make Metal as seasonally strong as in autumn. Wood’s winter birth and spring prosperity likewise distinguish support from command.
The seasonal table explains the passage’s language. Actual Wealth strength still depends on hidden stems (the additional element symbols traditionally assigned inside each lower chart symbol), roots, exposure, support and restraint rather than four season labels.
Which Wealth is actually hidden in Xin-Wei and Geng’s Wei hour?
Wei contains Ji, Ding and Yi. For Xin these are Indirect Resource, Killings and Indirect Wealth; Xin-Wei is not pure seated Direct Wealth. For Geng, Yi is Direct Wealth, Ji Direct Resource and Ding Officer.
Wei hour on a Geng day is Gui-Wei, with Gui Hurting Officer (a traditional role associated with independent expression and questioning rules) exposed and Yi Wealth hidden below. The source’s emphasis on Earth supporting Metal shows that a Wealth-storage position still needs capacity in the self.
Can more storage branches or a clash be converted into money?
No. Storage is a traditional category; savings, income and debt are real records. A Chou–Wei or Chen–Xu clash concerns branch relations, whose interpretation depends on hidden stems and the whole chart. Each clash is not another windfall opportunity.
Use the page to check whose Wealth is being read, which storage convention is used and what the branch actually contains. Moving directly from a storage label to an amount or loss omits the necessary basis.
