How to Calculate and Read Nayin: From the Sixty Jiazi to Use
Nayin (a separate named element classification for a complete pair of chart symbols) does not begin with a personality story about Gold in the Sea or Fire in the Furnace. It begins with a complete-Jiazi lookup. Identify the pillar, the two characters and the time layer; preserve ordinary chart structure; then interpret only the relation defined by a named tradition.
A six-step reproducible Nayin workflow
First verify calendar rules, timezone and the Four Pillars. Preserve each complete Jiazi. Look up its Nayin name and phase. Label Year, Month, Day, Hour or timing layer. Complete stems, branches, hidden stems, Month Command and Day-Master structure. Only then compare the Nayin participants permitted by a named method.
Each step leaves a record. If birth time is unknown, Hour-Pillar (the two-symbol column for the birth hour) Nayin remains unknown. Near year, month or day boundaries, resolve the chart input instead of choosing the Nayin label you prefer.
| Step | Record |
|---|---|
| 1 Input | Calendar, timezone, birth data and boundaries |
| 2 Pillar | Complete Year, Month, Day and Hour Jiazi |
| 3 Lookup | Nayin name, phase and source |
| 4 Layer | Natal, luck or annual period |
| 5 Structure | Month Command, strength, Ten Gods and contacts |
| 6 Comparison | Named method, participants, direction and limits |
Example: four Nayin records are not one elemental score
Use the synthetic Year Jia-Zi (甲子), Month Bing-Yin (丙寅), Day Wu-Chen (戊辰) and Hour Wu-Wu (戊午). Their Nayin entries are Sea Metal, Furnace Fire, Great Forest Wood and Heavenly Fire. Direct stems remain Wood, Fire, Earth and Earth; branches remain Water, Wood, Earth and Fire. Year/Month and Day/Hour pairings fit, but no actual birthday is asserted.
A named method may compare those Nayin entries, but counting Metal, Fire and Wood does not establish self strength. The Day Master remains Wu Earth and Month Branch (the lower symbol in the birth-month column) Yin; neither Great Forest Wood nor Heavenly Fire rewrites them.
| Pillar | Jiazi | Nayin | Direct stem / branch |
|---|---|---|---|
| Year | 甲子 | Gold in the Sea | Wood / Water |
| Month | 丙寅 | Fire in the Furnace | Fire / Wood |
| Day | 戊辰 | Great Forest Wood | Earth / Earth |
| Hour | 戊午 | Heavenly Fire | Earth / Fire |
What can and cannot Nayin answer?
Nayin can identify the name and pair-level phase of a complete Jiazi and help locate the layer compared in a historical text. It cannot establish personality, work, wealth, relationship quality, health risk, disaster or an event date by itself.
Medical, legal, financial, safety and relationship decisions require real evidence and appropriate professional input. A transmitted model is historical evidence, not modern validation of outcomes.
How to catch five common errors
Typical errors are inferring Nayin from an animal sign, joining characters across pillars, adding Nayin to strength percentages, discussing generation without positions or time layers, and scoring a relationship with one Metal-life versus Wood-life slogan. Each loses required input or mixes systems.
Ask a report to show the complete Jiazi, table row, pillar, time range, direction and named source. Without that information, the result is not reproducible.
