Hidden Officer, Visible Killings: Exposure, Roots and Priority
Hidden Officer (the role family that controls the birth-day element, often interpreted through rules and demands), Visible Killings means Officer is carried in a branch while Killings is exposed as a stem; the reverse is visible Officer with hidden Killings. The distinction clarifies location and interpretive priority. Hidden does not mean absent, and exposed does not automatically mean stronger.
Two exposure arrangements for Jia
For Jia, Xin is Officer and Geng Killings. You month contains Xin while an exposed Geng elsewhere gives hidden Officer and visible Killings. Shen month contains Geng while exposed Xin gives the reverse. These are placement illustrations, not reconstructed birth charts.

Why cannot every branch in Si–You–Chou be said to contain Xin?
The passage uses Si–You–Chou in an authority-bureau context, but common Si hidden stems (the additional element symbols traditionally assigned inside each lower chart symbol) are Bing, Wu and Geng, with no Xin. You and Chou contain Xin. A grouping’s phase and a branch’s actual hidden stems are different.
You month therefore supplies the clear hidden-Officer example here. A Si-month reading needs its additional bureau, branch or Officer-selection basis stated rather than assuming Xin is hidden in Si.
Why does priority still require strength evidence?
The text also sets aside ineffective qi. Exposure identifies expression, while season and roots establish support. A well-rooted seasonal Officer cannot be erased merely because it is hidden. Identify viable routes before assigning priority.
A Killings-led reading may examine Eating God restraint or Resource mediation; an Officer-led one considers Output, mixed authority and Wealth/Resource support. Choosing a route does not delete the other stem, and later contacts require fresh evaluation.
What does this resolve for a report reader?
It explains why two readings can see the same Officer and Killings but choose different priorities. Compare exposure, season and roots rather than simply counting more markers.
The name is not code for a mild exterior or forceful inner personality. Its useful content is the stated relationship and reasoning, not a judgment about morality, power or danger.
