Xing He De Lu: Gui Days at Jia-Yin Hour and the Source Variants

The main Xing He De Lu account uses a Gui day at Jia-Yin hour, invoking Wu Officer in Si through a Yin–Si punishment relation and a further retaining contact. It does not mean every punishment brings rank. Actual Jia-Yin already contains Output, Wealth and Officer relations worth identifying first.

What is the complete Yin hour for each Gui day?

Every Gui day has Jia-Yin at Yin hour because the Hour Stem (the upper symbol in the birth-hour column) depends on the Day Stem (the upper symbol in the birth-day column). The table establishes the basic pairing, not the season, retaining relation or all variants.

DayYin hour
Gui-You (癸酉)Jia-Yin (甲寅)
Gui-Wei (癸未)Jia-Yin (甲寅)
Gui-Si (癸巳)Jia-Yin (甲寅)
Gui-Mao (癸卯)Jia-Yin (甲寅)
Gui-Chou (癸丑)Jia-Yin (甲寅)
Gui-Hai (癸亥)Jia-Yin (甲寅)

What is already in Jia-Yin, and why invoke Si?

Jia is Gui’s Hurting Officer (a traditional role associated with independent expression and questioning rules). Yin contains Jia, Bing and Wu: Hurting Officer, Direct Wealth (a traditional role associated with managing resources and ongoing responsibilities) and Officer. Wu Officer is therefore not wholly absent from the actual chart; the extra claim concerns its Lu at Si and the punishment/combination theory.

You or Chou belongs to Si’s Metal-trine group and is used for retention. Shen combines with Si but also clashes with the actual source Yin, so it is not an interchangeable supporting branch.

How do Geng-Shen and Ren-Shen variants differ from the main account?

Later accounts use Gui day at Geng-Shen hour and Ji day at Ren-Shen hour through other punishment/combination routes. Both hours are calculable, but their Day Masters, Hour Stems and Officer targets differ from Jia-Yin.

The passage rejects a Xin-day/Geng-Yin route on grounds involving Geng controlling Jia. Geng-Yin is a valid Yin hour for Xin, but that does not make it the main Gui-day method. Calendar compatibility and interpretive eligibility are separate.

What does Ren-Shen, Gui-Chou, Gui-Chou, Jia-Yin illustrate?

The chart contains the required Gui-day/Jia-Yin hour and an actual Shen–Yin clash. It cannot be described as free of the main passage’s Shen caution. Gui-Chou month fits a Ren year and Jia-Yin hour a Gui day; the source uses the case to discuss an affected condition.

A reader can use this to check whether stated restrictions were actually examined. Lu is a traditional term, not proof of rank or assets, and a clear ordinary authority/Output reading needs no extra favorable title.
