Six Yi Rat Noble: Yi Days at Bing-Zi Hour, Repeated Zi and Source Examples
Six Yi Rat Noble is a classical method for Yi days at Bing-Zi hour. Rat means the Zi branch, not a required Rat birth year. The method invokes Geng Officer through Bing’s Lu in Si and the Si–Shen and Shen–Zi contacts, while actual Bing Output and Gui Resource come first.
What is the complete Zi hour on each Yi day?
All six Yi days in the sixty-pillar cycle have Bing-Zi at Zi hour. If the hour changes to Shen, its complete pillar is Jia-Shen, which is a different configuration.
| Day | Complete Zi hour |
|---|---|
| Yi-Chou (乙丑) | Bing-Zi (丙子) |
| Yi-Hai (乙亥) | Bing-Zi (丙子) |
| Yi-You (乙酉) | Bing-Zi (丙子) |
| Yi-Wei (乙未) | Bing-Zi (丙子) |
| Yi-Si (乙巳) | Bing-Zi (丙子) |
| Yi-Mao (乙卯) | Bing-Zi (丙子) |
Which Ten Gods are real in Bing-Zi, and where does Geng enter the account?
Bing is Yi’s Hurting Officer rather than the polarity-specific Eating God. Gui is Indirect Resource, Geng Officer and Xin Killings. Broad Food wording in historical verses does not change those exact relationships.
Bing has Lu in Si; Si combines with Shen; Shen and Zi belong to the Shen–Zi–Chen Water group; Shen contains Geng. This chain does not add absent Si, Shen or Chen or complete an actual trine. Bing’s Fire also controls Geng’s Metal, so more authority is not automatically beneficial within the theory.
Why does the source distinguish one Zi from several?
For one Zi the passage highlights Wu-Horse opposition, Chou combination and Mao punishment. With several Zi it introduces a gathering account, including two Zi flanking Mao or Chou. Repetition does not literally delete the contacts; the compilation is applying another interpretation.
The text also distinguishes Yi-Chou binding Zi and Yi-You sitting on Killings. The six days are not treated as identical in every condition, and an introductory restriction should not erase the later variants.
Which actual symbols are easily omitted from the three source examples?
All three cases have compatible year/month and day/hour sequences. Their Xin, Chou, Mao and Si are retained rather than removed to make a short rule appear exception-free.
| Source: Year, Month, Day, Hour | Zi count | Actual content that also needs explanation |
|---|---|---|
| Ren-Yin (壬寅), Xin-Hai (辛亥), Yi-Wei (乙未), Bing-Zi (丙子) | 1 | Xin Killings exposed in Month Stem |
| Ji-Chou (己丑), Bing-Zi (丙子), Yi-Mao (乙卯), Bing-Zi (丙子) | 2 | Two Zi flank Mao; Year Branch also Chou |
| Ding-Si (丁巳), Ren-Zi (壬子), Yi-Chou (乙丑), Bing-Zi (丙子) | 2 | Two Zi flank Chou; Year Branch also Si |
Why is the first example included despite its exposed Xin?
The source goes beyond a simple Xin prohibition to discuss weak Xin and modification by Bing or Ding. Bing combines with Xin; Ding controls Xin as Fire, but does not share that Five Combination. Transformation into Water requires additional conditions.
This helps a reader ask whether an exception has been explained. It neither verifies a historical person’s achievements nor ranks readers with Xin as inferior; it shows how the text handles uneven cases.
What can understanding Rat Noble help you do?
It helps identify the day/hour reference, check Ten God (one of ten traditional relationship labels defined relative to the birth-day element) roles, distinguish actual from invoked symbols and recognize a single-Zi or gathering interpretation. It establishes no social rank and should not replace real-world choices.
The passage gives priority to actual strong Wealth (the role family controlled by the birth-day element, often interpreted through resources and practical demands), authority or Resource in the month, with separate Output, Geng-Shen Officer and seasonal Wealth-storage readings. Judging from Bing-Zi hour alone misses that month-first principle.
