Po Cai Pattern: An Old Wealth-Invocation Term and Seven Source Days
Po Cai in this passage is a method of invoking Wealth (the role family controlled by the birth-day element, often interpreted through resources and practical demands) through breaking language, not the everyday meaning of losing money. It starts from selected Day Pillars and target branches, requiring a clear reference and method before any Wealth interpretation.
Which Wealth appears in the targets for the seven source days?
Jia/Yi Wood changes Direct/Indirect Wealth (a traditional role associated with opportunities, exchange and wider connections) role between Geng and Xin, as Bing/Ding Fire does between Ren and Gui. The branches are source groups, with actual Wealth stems checked separately; not every branch contains both stems.
| Source day | Target branch group | Selected Wealth stems | Roles |
|---|---|---|---|
| Yi-Mao (乙卯) | Wu (午), Wei (未) | Ji | Indirect Wealth |
| Geng-Shen (庚申) | Yin (寅), Mao (卯), Chen (辰) | Jia / Yi | Indirect / Direct Wealth |
| Xin-You (辛酉) | Yin (寅), Mao (卯), Chen (辰) | Jia / Yi | Direct / Indirect Wealth |
| Bing-Wu (丙午) | You (酉), Xu (戌) | Xin | Direct Wealth |
| Ding-Wei (丁未) | You (酉), Xu (戌) | Xin | Indirect Wealth |
| Ren-Zi (壬子) | Si (巳), Wu (午) | Bing / Ding | Indirect / Direct Wealth |
| Gui-Chou (癸丑) | Si (巳), Wu (午) | Bing / Ding | Direct / Indirect Wealth |
Are all these routes standard Six Break pairs?
No. Yi-Mao toward Wu-Horse corresponds to Mao–Wu breaking, but Mao–Wei is not a Six Break pair, and other targets are grouped. The passage uses a broader invocation vocabulary rather than redefining the basic table.
It additionally invokes Yin or Xu to connect the Fire/Earth targets in the Yi-Mao route and changes the reading when Wealth is actually present. An absent target should not also count as an actual element or an income score.
Does the source’s Lu/Blade language put all seven examples at Peak?
Under the declared Yang-forward/Yin-backward stages, Yi-Mao, Geng-Shen and Xin-You are at Lu; Bing-Wu and Ren-Zi at Peak; Ding-Wei and Gui-Chou at Crown. Their appearance in some old day-Blade lists does not rename Crown as Peak.
The source uses these examples to discuss self-support, but one stage does not replace season, roots and modifying relations, still less quantify investment or debt capacity.
What should a report using this name clarify first?
First establish whether it means this classical invocation method or ordinary financial loss. The former needs its Day Pillar (the two-symbol column for the birth day), target Wealth stem and source; the latter needs real financial evidence.
The name proves neither loss nor a windfall. Clarifying the meaning and relationships is the practical help this page provides.
