Noble Harmony: Ding-Hai Earth with Jia-Chen or Bing-Chen

Noble Harmony begins with Ding-Hai as an Earth-Nayin (a separate named element classification for a complete pair of chart symbols) reference and mentions Jia-Chen and Bing-Chen at the Hour. Ding-Hai’s Earth comes from Nayin, not Ding’s stem element. Jia-Chen has Fire Nayin generating Earth; Bing-Chen has Earth Nayin of the same element. Those are two identifiable relationships.

What elements belong to the three complete pillars?

Listing stem elements and Nayin separately prevents their relationships from being mixed.

Jia-Chen (甲辰)Jia WoodLamp FireFire generates Earth
Bing-Chen (丙辰)Bing FireSand EarthSame element

Can one birth have both Jia-Chen and Bing-Chen as its Hour?

A birth has one Hour pillar (the two-symbol column for the birth hour). The compressed wording does not explain whether Jia-Chen and Bing-Chen are alternatives or belong to different positions. They cannot both occupy a single Hour.

If Ding-Hai is assigned to the Day, its Chen Hour is Jia-Chen, not Bing-Chen. Bing-Chen Hour belongs to Wu or Gui Days. Treating Ding-Hai as a Year reference leaves the actual Day stem (the upper symbol in the birth-day column) to be checked separately.

Does Six Chen mean six distinct Chen pillars?

The sexagenary cycle (the repeating sequence of sixty paired calendar symbols) contains five complete Chen pillars: Jia-Chen, Bing-Chen, Wu-Chen, Geng-Chen and Ren-Chen. Inventing Yi-Chen to reach six violates the stem/branch parity of the cycle.

The passage does not fully explain Six Chen. Listing the five valid Chen pillars clarifies one limit; it does not reconstruct that unstated method.

What makes harmony more than a favorable adjective?

Name the reference and whether the relationship is Nayin generation, same-element Nayin or stem generation. For Ding Day, Jia is Direct Resource (a traditional role associated with learning, care and dependable support) and Bing Rob Wealth (a traditional role associated with shared resources, cooperation and competition), which differs from the two pillars’ Fire/Earth Nayin relationship.

The source’s favorable social language is interpretation. A few generating elements do not establish status, wealth or an easy life, and missing position rules should not be silently supplied.
