Gathering Life at Its Source: Resource, Birth and One Explained Chart

Gathering Life at Its Source joins two ideas: Resource (the role family that supports the birth-day element, often interpreted through learning and support) nourishing the Day Master (the birth-day element used as the chart’s reference), and the Day Master encountering its Birth-stage branch. Source here is chart terminology, not a birthplace or home. One classical example illustrates Wood nourishing Fire and Bing encountering Yin.

What does each pillar contribute in the source chart?

The example is Yi-Mao, Ding-Hai, Bing-Yin, Geng-Yin, with Bing Fire as Day Master and compatible calendar pairings. Read the actual stems and hidden contents before interpreting the name.

How do Resource support and the Birth stage differ?

Yi and Jia Wood nourish Bing Fire and receive Resource roles through phase and polarity (whether a symbol is classified as yin or yang) relationships. Separately, Bing’s twelve-stage sequence begins in Yin, which appears in both Day and Hour Branches.

Yin also actually contains Bing, providing a root to examine. Two Yin branches repeat the placement; they do not prove exactly twice the support. Hai season and the other Metal/Water relationships still matter.

Why does an example include Geng when the source cautions against harming Resource?

Geng is present as Hour Stem (the upper symbol in the birth-hour column) and Bing’s Indirect Wealth. Metal controls Wood, so its relationship with Jia/Yi Resource must remain visible. This is not a chart without Wealth (the role family controlled by the birth-day element, often interpreted through resources and practical demands) or any possibility of Resource being controlled.

Its effect requires Geng’s roots, season and Wood/Fire support. The example cannot support an absolute ban on any Metal Wealth, nor a reading that omits Geng.

Is Direct Officer required by the basic definition?

The source first defines Resource support together with Birth, then adds a favorable remark about Officer (the role family that controls the birth-day element, often interpreted through rules and demands). This example has no Gui Officer among its exposed or hidden stems (the additional element symbols traditionally assigned inside each lower chart symbol); Ren in Hai is Bing’s Killings.

Separate the basic relationship, an added condition and what the chart actually contains. The name explains a traditional structure, not a person’s lifespan, status or upbringing.
