Stem and Branch Flourishing: Five Day–Month–Hour Routes
Stem and Branch Flourishing concerns specified support across the Day Master, Month Branch and Hour Branch, rather than strength in general. The source gives five routes. Start with the Day Master, then compare month and hour; the purpose is to locate support, not judge ability or character from a prosperous label.
What does each of the five routes specify?
Each month or hour column means one of its listed members. A chart has one Month Branch: Hai/Mao/Wei month does not put three branches in that position.

Does Jia with Mao month and Mao hour complete a Wood trine?
It fits the first row, but two Mao branches do not supply Hai and Wei. The three positions match the stated route without completing the Hai-Mao-Wei trine.
Changing Jia to Yi still fits Mao month and Mao hour, but the hour stem changes: Jia has Ding-Mao, Yi has Ji-Mao. Ding is Jia’s Hurting Officer; Ji is Yi’s Indirect Wealth. The full relationships are therefore different.
Why does the Earth route list Si/Wu months and four Earth hours?
This route joins Fire-season support with an Earth Hour Branch. Chen, Xu, Chou and Wei have different hidden contents: Yi/Gui in Chen, Xin/Ding in Xu, Gui/Xin in Chou, Ding/Yi in Wei, alongside their Earth stems.
It does not require all four storage branches. A Chen or Wei hour is one position, not a complete four-storage configuration.
What remains to explain after the table matches?
The complete pillars, solar-term (one of 24 seasonal markers defined by the Sun’s position along its yearly path) month, other roots and modifying interactions remain relevant. A chart outside this table can receive support in other ways; nonmembership does not establish weakness.
The source’s quiet-life and character statements are historical interpretations, not measurements produced by three positions. The table makes the conditions and participants explicit.
