Enclosing a Storage Branch: Four Routes, Hidden Roles and a Source Chart

Enclosing a Storage Branch invokes Chen, Xu, Chou or Wei between two actual branches. Storage does not automatically mean personal Wealth (the role family controlled by the birth-day element, often interpreted through resources and practical demands), and the invoked branch does not become an extra chart pillar. Start with the two real endpoints, then explain the proposed branch’s relationship to the Day Master (the birth-day element used as the chart’s reference).

How do the four source routes locate the missing branch?

The first route says Yi-Si encountering Mao without one universal placement; Mao hour would be Ji-Mao. The hour stems below follow the actual Day Master sequence.

Does Wealth in the invoked branch mean it is already present?

No. The table explains the proposed branch’s roles; it does not add them to actual hidden-stem (an additional element symbol traditionally assigned inside a lower chart symbol) counts. If the storage branch is already present, the source calls that filling the position, changing the virtual-enclosure account.

Yi-Si with Mao invokes a Chen containing Wealth, Peer and Resource (the role family that supports the birth-day element, often interpreted through learning and support), not Wealth alone. An actual Chen elsewhere should be read as present, not awarded again as an additional virtual treasury.

What can be checked in the Ji-Mao month / Ji-Si day example?

The source chart Yi-Hai, Ji-Mao, Ji-Si, Jia-Zi has compatible calendar pairs. The month/day share Ji, Mao/Si flank an absent Chen, and no natal Chen is present. Relative to Ji, Chen would contain Gui Indirect Wealth, Wu Rob Wealth (a traditional role associated with shared resources, cooperation and competition) and Yi Killings.

Yet the source’s broad no-conflict description does not remove the actual Year Hai–Day Si clash or Month Mao–Hour Zi punishment. Ji-Si belongs to the Jia-Zi decade, whose Void is Xu/Hai, so invoked Chen itself is not day-decade Void. These are distinct checks.

How can this be read without adding arbitrary missing characters?

Keep the stated routes, actual positions, invoked branch, filling and modifying interactions explicit, including tensions between the source’s conditions and example. Otherwise almost any spaced branches could become a fabricated Wealth promise.

This historical method does not establish income, assets or a profitable year. It helps explain virtual versus actual presence, and why storage roles change with the Day Master.
