Eight Specials and Prosperity: Four Core Days and Two Explained Examples
Eight Specials and Prosperity starts with four core days—Jia-Yin, Yi-Mao, Geng-Shen and Xin-You—and examines how self-Lu support works with Wealth, Resource, Eating God and other roles. Despite eight in the name, the source preserves different lists. Its four-day core is not a universal Eight Specials table.
Does self-Lu mean the branch contains only the Day Master?
No. Yin and Shen each contain three stems; Mao and You each contain one. Self-Lu identifies the Day Master’s Official-stage placement without removing other hidden stems.
| Core day | Own Lu | Actual hidden roles |
|---|---|---|
| Jia-Yin | Yin | Jia Peer, Bing Eating God, Wu Indirect Wealth |
| Yi-Mao | Mao | Yi Peer |
| Geng-Shen | Shen | Geng Peer, Ren Eating God, Wu Indirect Resource |
| Xin-You | You | Xin Peer |
Why do the two source charts use different relationships?
Both charts have compatible calendar pairs. The first uses a Fire trine and Bing Eating God controlling Geng Killings, although Jia sits on Wood Lu. The second contains the Wood trine. A Wood day does not force identical combinations.
| Source pillars | Visible configuration | Other facts to retain |
|---|---|---|
| Geng-Xu (庚戌), Bing-Xu (丙戌), Jia-Yin (甲寅), Geng-Wu (庚午) | Full Yin-Wu-Xu Fire group; Bing Eating God and two Geng Killings | Jia-Yin is self-Lu; the whole chart is not Wood alone |
| Ji-Si (己巳), Xin-Wei (辛未), Yi-Mao (乙卯), Ding-Hai (丁亥) | Full Hai-Mao-Wei Wood group; Ji Wealth, Xin Killings, Ding Eating God | Actual Year Si–Hour Hai clash |
How does one Lu day differ from repeated Lu positions?
One matching Day Branch (the lower symbol in the birth-day column) establishes one position. A separate account discusses repeated Lu and invoking the opposite branch when Wealth/authority is absent. It does not multiply one Yin or turn an absent Shen into an actual branch.
The text cautions against mixed authority yet also allows a supported Officer (the role family that controls the birth-day element, often interpreted through rules and demands) reading. Self-Lu therefore does not automatically reject Officer or every Peer. Identify the season, roots and selected relationship.
Why do Eight Specials lists differ?
The passage records additions and removals, then appends other categories. Its broad Peak statements include Gui-Chou and Ji-Wei, whereas the stated Yang-forward/Yin-reverse, Earth-follows-Fire table places both at Crown. These accounts should not be flattened into one table.
This entry uses the explicit four-day core and preserves the other layers. Lu and prosperity are not tests of intelligence, morality or lifespan; historical biographies do not establish outcomes for matching readers.
