Heavenly Stem Hidden Lu: Four Days, Actual Hidden Stems and Invoked Officer
Heavenly Stem Hidden Lu names Geng-Yin, Yi-Si, Bing-Shen and Ji-Hai days and examines authority, Wealth and generating relations around their Day Branches. It does not add a missing branch. Yin does not hide Ding and Shen does not hide Gui, even when the source discusses those Officer targets through broader phase language.
What is actually under the four days?
Read the actual hidden stems (the additional element symbols traditionally assigned inside each lower chart symbol) before an additional Officer target. Yi-Si and Ji-Hai already contain Officer; Geng-Yin and Bing-Shen contain Bing and Ren Killings, distinct from Ding and Gui Officer.
| Day | Actual hidden roles | Officer distinction |
|---|---|---|
| Geng-Yin | Jia Indirect Wealth, Bing Killings, Wu Indirect Resource | Ding Officer is absent from Yin |
| Yi-Si | Bing Hurting Officer, Wu Direct Wealth, Geng Officer | Geng is actually in Si |
| Bing-Shen | Geng Indirect Wealth, Ren Killings, Wu Eating God | Gui Officer is absent from Shen |
| Ji-Hai | Ren Direct Wealth, Jia Officer | Jia is actually in Hai |
Why do the four routes need different follow-up questions?
Geng-Yin discusses Wood nourishing Fire, Earth Resource (the role family that supports the birth-day element, often interpreted through learning and support) and Water modifying Bing Killings. Yi-Si considers exposed Geng/Wu and Water Resource modifying Bing Output (the role family produced by the birth-day element, often interpreted through expression and activity). Bing-Shen considers Wealth, Gui Officer and Wood Resource; Ji-Hai examines Metal Output affecting Jia Officer.
Wu is Bing’s Eating God while Ji is Hurting Officer. For Ji, Geng is Hurting Officer and Xin Eating God. Broad language about injuring authority should not make every Output stem the same polarity (whether a symbol is classified as yin or yang)-specific Ten God (one of ten traditional relationship labels defined relative to the birth-day element).
Are the five source cases free of actual authority?
No. The source symbols are retained, and all five year/month and day/hour pairings are compatible. A listed Day Pillar (the two-symbol column for the birth day) does not mean the whole chart lacks authority.
| Source pillars | Actual relation easily overlooked |
|---|---|
| Geng-Zi (庚子), Jia-Shen (甲申), Geng-Yin (庚寅), Bing-Xu (丙戌) | Bing Killings exposed in hour |
| Bing-Chen (丙辰), Bing-Shen (丙申), Bing-Shen (丙申), Ren-Chen (壬辰) | Ren Killings exposed in hour |
| Xin-Si (辛巳), Xin-Chou (辛丑), Ji-Hai (己亥), Bing-Yin (丙寅) | Jia Officer hidden in both Hai and Yin |
| Ding-Hai (丁亥), Ren-Yin (壬寅), Ji-Hai (己亥), Yi-Hai (乙亥) | Yi Killings exposed in hour |
| Jia-Zi (甲子), Ding-Mao (丁卯), Yi-Si (乙巳), Bing-Zi (丙子) | Bing Hurting Officer exposed; Geng Officer hidden in Si |
How does understanding Hidden Lu help with a report?
Ask whether a statement concerns an actual hidden stem or an inferred authority relation, and how it connects to the month and real Wealth, Officer and Resource. This exposes errors such as placing Ding in Yin or Gui in Shen.
The four-day list cannot verify rank, lifespan or temperament. Its useful lesson is the difference between placement and inference, not a guarantee of unseen good fortune.
