Follow Wealth: How It Differs from Many Wealth Stars and Weakness
Follow Wealth (the role family controlled by the birth-day element, often interpreted through resources and practical demands) describes a chart whose Day Master (the birth-day element used as the chart’s reference) lacks effective roots and sustaining support while the Wealth side dominates. The traditional reading follows that side. Wealth here means the element controlled by the Day Master, not a bank balance. Many Wealth stars, weakness or real-world affluence alone cannot establish the pattern.
Which element is Wealth for each Day Master?
Direct and Indirect Wealth (a traditional role associated with opportunities, exchange and wider connections) belong to the same elemental side, with different polarity (whether a symbol is classified as yin or yang) relationships.
| Day Master | Direct Wealth | Indirect Wealth |
|---|---|---|
| Jia | Ji | Wu |
| Yi | Wu | Ji |
| Bing | Xin | Geng |
| Ding | Geng | Xin |
| Wu | Gui | Ren |
| Ji | Ren | Gui |
| Geng | Yi | Jia |
| Xin | Jia | Yi |
| Ren | Ding | Bing |
| Gui | Bing | Ding |
Why does the Ding-in-You example also require lack of support?
Sanming Tonghui describes a Ding day in a You month, much Geng/Xin, and an unsupported Day stem (the upper symbol in the birth-day column). Geng/Xin is Ding’s Wealth; You contains Xin and belongs to autumn’s Metal season. These supply the context. The text gives a conditional fragment, not a complete chart.
Other positions still need inspection: a Ding root in Wu, supporting Jia/Bing in Yin, or effective exposed Jia/Yi Resource (the role family that supports the birth-day element, often interpreted through learning and support) would challenge the unsupported premise. A hidden stem (an additional element symbol traditionally assigned inside a lower chart symbol) is not automatically powerful, but it cannot simply be erased.
What do the nearby labels actually ask?
These readings can share a visible abundance of Wealth without reaching the same conclusion.
| Label | Main question | Essential check |
|---|---|---|
| Much Wealth, weak self | Can the self sustain its relationship with Wealth? | Roots, support and relative demands |
| Direct or Indirect Wealth Pattern | Which Wealth relationship leads from the month? | Its fit with self, authority, Resource and Output |
| Follow Wealth | Does the reading truly follow a dominant Wealth side? | Whether effective independent support remains |
Does Wealth plus authority always remain Follow Wealth?
Wealth can generate authority, shifting the dominant flow toward that side. If dominance changes, the reading must explain what is actually being followed rather than counting every opposing element as pure Wealth. Resource and fellow stems also need evaluation for roots and restraint, not a vote by frequency.
The source passages do not say exactly the same thing: the Wealth example mentions favorable northern Wealth/authority settings, while the Killings passage says following Wealth dislikes Killings. Explain the chosen account and the actual relationships instead of declaring all Wealth and authority favorable.
What is useful about understanding this label?
The practical reading value is understanding the choice of favorable influences. An ordinary weak-self reading may seek support for the self; a following reading may prioritize the dominant Wealth flow. When conclusions conflict, ask for root and support evidence instead of changing investment or income expectations.
The pattern measures neither personal worth, earning ability nor independence in relationships. Real finances depend on income, costs, risk and choices; this term is not a return promise.
