Heavenly Pardon days: seasonal table, birth examples and boundaries
Heavenly Pardon (Tian She, 天赦) pairs a season with one complete day: Wu-Yin in spring, Jia-Wu in summer, Wu-Shen in autumn and Jia-Zi in winter. Its traditional imagery suggests clemency and a fresh start. Date selection and natal interpretation use that imagery in different contexts.
Which complete day belongs to each season?
Identify the season under the chosen convention, then compare the day pair. Jia and Wu must form the same Jia-Wu day; a Jia Year Stem (the upper symbol in the birth-year column) and Wu Hour Branch (the lower symbol in the birth-hour column) cannot be assembled into one.

A Jia-Wu day is not Heavenly Pardon in every season
A summer Jia-Wu day matches; a spring Jia-Wu day does not, because spring targets Wu-Yin. A Jia-Wu Hour Pillar (the two-symbol column for the birth hour) cannot replace the birth Day Pillar (the two-symbol column for the birth day) either.
Being born on such a day describes a relationship between the birth date and the table. Choosing a future day requires checking that future date. One finding cannot supply the other.
What happens near the start of a season?
Under the Four Beginnings solar-term (one of 24 seasonal markers defined by the Sun’s position along its yearly path) convention, the transition instants at Li Chun (the Start of Spring calendar marker used as the year boundary in many BaZi methods), Li Xia, Li Qiu and Li Dong separate seasons. Civil-month and lunar-month boundaries need not coincide. Compare the birth and term instants in a consistent time zone.
If the date is known but its position before or after the transition is uncertain, retain both seasonal scenarios. Clarify does not calculate Heavenly Pardon or silently select a seasonal rule for it.
How can the fresh-start image be understood?
Auspicious-day language can provide cultural context for reviewing plans or relationships. A fresh start still depends on action, communication and circumstances; the name does not erase obligations or consequences.
Checking the season and complete day completes the basic lookup. Further BaZi interpretation returns to the month and whole chart rather than assuming one favorable name removes every difficulty.
