Fortune Star Noble: Eating-God hours and different Fu Xing rules

Fortune Star Noble (Fu Xing Gui Ren, 福星贵人) has more than one historical definition. Xuan Ze Ji Yao describes the Day Stem’s Eating God appearing at the Hour Stem. Another account uses a year reference and a xun sequence. These are distinct conditions.

The ten rows for Eating God at the Hour Stem

This follows the Upper Part of Xuan Ze Ji Yao: derive the Hour Stem with the Five Rats method and check whether it is the Day Stem’s Eating God. It does not search any natal branch indiscriminately.

For Yi, the two candidate Hour Branches Chou and Hai give Ding-Chou and Ding-Hai. Ding is Yi’s Eating God. Read the target branches together with the required Hour Stem.

How do Zi and Yin hours differ on a Jia day?

A Zi hour on a Jia day is Jia-Zi: its Hour Stem is not the required Bing. A Yin hour is Bing-Yin and matches. A simplified list containing both Zi and Yin for Jia cannot override this hour-based condition.

An Yi day begins with Bing-Zi. The next hour is Ding-Chou, and Hai is Ding-Hai, so both match. An unknown birth hour prevents an affirmative personal lookup under this rule.

Why do other Fortune Star tables differ?

The Gujin Tushu Jicheng entry after Heavenly Kitchen gives Jia with Bing-Yin or Bing-Zi and Yi with Ding-Hai or Ding-Chou, explicitly discussing a year-based xun reading. Complete pillars under that reference differ from an Eating-God Hour Stem calculation.

Related verses in Shi Lin Guang Ji also appear under titles such as Wen Xing Gui. A name alone does not identify a universal formula or guarantee prosperity. Clarify does not currently calculate Fortune Star Noble.
