Why must the Hour Pillar be verified first?

The same Hour Branch has different Hour Stems under different Day Stems, following the Five Rats day-to-hour rule. Jia day at You hour is Gui-You, not Xin-You merely because Xin is Jia’s Officer. You still contains hidden Xin, a separate Officer claim.

Compressed source expressions such as Jia day with You/Xin hour should not be silently treated as valid calendar combinations. The table below checks exposed Hour-Stem Officer only; hidden Hour-Branch Officer is a separate question.

Which valid Hour Pillars expose Direct Officer for each Day Master?

This editorial calculation table derives from Day Stem (the upper symbol in the birth-day column), Hour Branch and the Five Rats rule. It is not presented as an ancient row-by-row formation table. It identifies the Hour Stem, not a preferable birth time.

Why can Geng day with Ren-Wu hour still contain Officer?

In the source chart 辛未 辛卯 庚戌 壬午, Ren Hour Stem is Eating God (a traditional role associated with creativity, expression and enjoyment) for Geng. Wu contains Ding and Ji; Ding is the Officer. This is hidden Hour-Branch authority, so Ren must not be mislabeled Officer.

The source additionally discusses Mao–Wei and Wu–Xu relations and later timing. Their participants remain specific: two branches do not supply a complete three-branch set, and hour placement alone establishes no late-life event.

What should follow the hour placement?

Check support from the month, the Day Master’s capacity, Wealth generating Officer, Resource support and Output restraint. Unknown birth time leaves the hour and this configuration uncertain; it is not a reason to choose the hour with the preferred label.

Traditional associations with children and later life explain historical wording without establishing fertility, a child’s ability or retirement circumstances. The value here is accurate location and separation of claims.
