How to Read Day-Pillar Nayin: Separate Day Master, Spouse Palace and Pair

A Day Pillar contains a Day Stem and Day Branch; Nayin is looked up from the complete pair. The stem is the Day Master, the branch is often called the Spouse Palace, and Day-Pillar Nayin is the pair’s historical classification. The three fields are not interchangeable.

Which three fields appear in a 甲子 Day Pillar?

For a 甲子 day, the Day Master is 甲 Wood, the Spouse Palace is 子 Water and the Nayin is Gold in the Sea. Ten Gods (traditional labels for relationships to the birth-day element) and strength center on 甲; direct palace contacts use 子; Gold in the Sea enters only a declared Nayin method.

The Metal Nayin does not turn the Day Master into Metal or assign a spouse personality.

The Day Pillar comes from calendar calculation

Use a verified chart result and check timezone, day-boundary convention and a birth time near that boundary. A civil date or branch animal alone is not enough to infer the complete Day-Pillar Nayin.

How may Day-Pillar Nayin be compared?

A named method may compare Day Nayin with another natal pillar or the same selected position in another chart. State participants and direction. Taking one person’s Year Pillar (the two-symbol column for the birth year) and another’s Day Pillar without disclosure is not the same rule.

Can Day-Pillar Nayin determine marriage?

Not by itself. A relationship reading also involves both inputs, Day-Master relations, direct Day-Branch contacts, each chart’s structure and real interaction. Sharing a Day Nayin cannot make different relationships identical.
