Jian Lu: monthly Lu, Wealth, Officer and Seven Killings

Jian Lu usually means the Day Master meets its Lu position in the month branch. It describes a monthly relationship, not a complete strength assessment or a favorable outcome. Using Wealth, Officer or Seven Killings then identifies the role around which an interpretation is organized in that setting. Establish the month branch before examining the rest of the chart.

Which month branch gives each Day Master Jian Lu?

The table uses the common ten-stem Lu lookup, with Wu following Bing at Si and Ji following Ding at Wu. Use the BaZi month branch determined by solar terms (seasonal markers based on 24 divisions of the Sun’s yearly path). The same Lu branch in the year, day or hour may be discussed as Lu, but does not make the month Jian Lu.

Jian Lu is not another name for Yang Blade. For Jia, Yin is Lu and Mao is Yang Blade. Ziping Zhenquan discusses Jian Lu and monthly companions together as a way of organizing interpretation; exact Lu identification still needs the terms distinguished.

What Jia in a Yin month actually establishes

Yin contains Jia, Bing and Wu: Friend, Eating God and Indirect Wealth for Jia. Jia has its own stem root in the month branch, a concrete source of support. The hidden stems also supply Wood, Fire and Earth relationships, but sharing a branch does not make them equally strong, exposed or an effective Wealth-generating chain.

Other pillars, controlling and expending contacts, Yin’s combinations/clashes and the solar-term setting can change the whole-chart reading. This is a partial relationship example, not a complete calculated birth chart or a basis for a strength score.

Using Wealth: how support reaches Wealth

For Jia, Wood companions control Earth Wealth, while Fire Output (the role family produced by the birth-day element, often interpreted through expression and activity) receives Wood and generates Earth. This explains the classical emphasis on Output as a connection when Wealth is used with monthly companions. The requirement concerns an effective relationship, not a Wealth symbol representing income.

Next consider roots for Wealth and Output, support for the Day Master side and Resource (the role family that supports the birth-day element, often interpreted through learning and support) restraint of Output. The classical chapter also discusses other support for Wealth when Output is not exposed, so one common arrangement should not become the only possible form.

Using Officer: what supports its role?

Xin Metal is Jia’s Direct Officer (a traditional role associated with rules, responsibility and expectations). If the interpretation needs Xin to regulate a strong Wood side, examine Xin’s roots, Wealth generation and any Resource role in protection or support. Wealth and Resource together still require their controlling relationship to be explained; three present roles do not establish three favorable functions.

Ding Hurting Officer (a traditional role associated with independent expression and questioning rules) controls Xin, while Geng Seven Killings is not another Direct Officer. Their participation can change priorities or raise the question of retaining a clear role. Officer imagery involves rules and responsibility, but this configuration does not establish suitability for public office, management or a job.

Using Seven Killings: inspect the controlling relationship

Geng Metal is Seven Killings for Jia, and Bing Eating God controls Geng. A monthly Wood root provides support without establishing capacity for any amount of Geng. The Jian Lu chapter emphasizes restraint of Killings, making Bing’s strength, Resource restraint and diversion toward Wealth concrete questions.

Ren Indirect Resource (a traditional role associated with specialized learning and unconventional insight) can receive generation from Geng and generate Jia, forming a different Killings–Resource route. That route needs its own evidence and is not Eating God controlling Killings. Earth Wealth generates Geng and may increase a role that already needs restraint; more Wealth is not consistently helpful.

An interpretation can center on Output instead

The classical chapter also considers monthly companions using Output to release excess without centering on Wealth or Officer. The focus is then Day Master → Output; absent roles should not be invented to complete a familiar list. Useful Output and generating Wealth are related but distinct ideas.

A clear explanation identifies the matching month branch, the role being used, the evidence for its participation and the missing conditions. Jian Lu does not establish wealth, status or independence; those need actual experience and behavior as evidence.
