Companions and Wealth: support, competition and Output
Companions seizing Wealth describes Friend and Rob Wealth, the roles sharing the Day Master’s element, participating in restraint of Wealth. Seizing can sound like someone taking your money, but the term first describes chart relationships. Companions can also add support or generate Output. Whether they help or obstruct depends on what the Day Master and Wealth need in the configuration.
Identify all four roles in the Jia example
For a Jia Day Master, another Jia is Friend or Peer; Yi is Rob Wealth. Wu Earth is Indirect Wealth and Ji Earth Direct Wealth. Both Jia and Yi are Wood and can control Earth, while exact pairs such as Jia–Ji or Yi–Geng introduce additional contacts.
Rob Wealth is a role name; seizing Wealth is an interpretation of function. One Yi does not establish seizure. Conversely, Jia Friend can also participate in Wealth restraint: the word Rob in the label is not the deciding test.
Support does not reverse the controlling cycle
When Jia has limited Wood roots and companion support, effective Jia/Yi can strengthen its side. Ren/Gui Water generates that Wood: this is Resource (the role family that supports the birth-day element, often interpreted through learning and support) generating companions. Water generation is not a Wood root itself, and one hidden stem (an additional element symbol traditionally assigned inside a lower chart symbol) described as both role and root should not become multiple independent contributions.
Companions resisting Officer (the role family that controls the birth-day element, often interpreted through rules and demands) or Killings usually means that added support changes the Wood side under Metal restraint. It does not reverse the cycle into Wood controlling Metal. If the Day Master side is already strong, more Water and Wood may simply amplify it; support is not automatically favorable.
Many companions needs more than repeated labels
Several rooted Jia/Yi occurrences alongside a light but needed Wu/Ji Wealth invite examination of whether Wood affects Wealth’s function. If Wealth is excessive and the Day Master needs support, or the companions lack roots and strength, identical counts do not mean identical competition.
Many companions concerns multiple participating sources, not repeated credit for one branch, root or combination under different labels. Wealth’s position, exposure, binding and contact with those sources can all change the reading.
Output gives the companion element another route
Wood generates Fire and Fire generates Earth. Jia/Yi can feed Bing/Ding Output, which generates Wu/Ji Wealth. This describes companions generating Output and Output generating Wealth. It does not delete Wood controlling Earth; it asks whether Output provides an effective connecting route.
Weak Fire, Resource restraining Fire, or excessive expenditure from already limited Wood may make the route unsuitable. Wealth also needs to participate. A useful chain depends on its parts and their purpose, not its length.
Officer restrains the companion element
For Jia, Xin Metal Officer restrains Wood, while Earth Wealth generates Metal. This is the basis of Officer restraining companions to protect Wealth. If Metal is already heavy and Wood poorly supported, additional restraint can worsen another imbalance; Officer is not a universal solution.
Trust in a partnership depends on responsibilities, accounts and actual behavior. Companion seizure does not prove theft, sibling rivalry or partnership failure, and companion support does not guarantee help from another person. Understanding the term should not replace understanding the people involved.
