Family roles in compatibility: resources, shared work and plans for children
Comparing family roles concerns how two people understand support, resources, responsibilities and shared life. BaZi lends these themes names such as Wealth, Resource and Output. A star cannot assign who earns, who does household work or who should have children. Understanding the traditional vocabulary is useful; actual arrangements still depend on time, capacity and willingness.
Why do Wealth, Resource and Output appear in family readings?
Ten Gods are calculated from phase direction and polarity, then used as analogies for life roles. Ziping Zhenquan’s family chapter connects Direct Resource with mother and Peer with brothers; its historical male-chart convention associates Direct Wealth with wife and Officers with children. This records a role table, not an identity arrangement every household must follow today.
Modern readings also discuss Resource as support, Wealth as resources and Output as expression or production. Those are themes. A real family member can earn, care and express opinions at once, or fit none of the classical labels. The same Ten God also requires its own placement, season and function in each chart.
Do more Wealth and Resource stars assign earning and care work?
They do not. Wealth-star counts are not income, and Resource-star counts are not willingness to care. If one person has fixed work hours and the other rotates shifts, shopping, transport and household tasks depend first on real schedules and what each person is willing to do.
Assigning earning to Wealth and care to Resource can overlook work, study or rest needs. List the actual tasks before discussing who handles them; changed shifts or housing can prompt another discussion. This is a household illustration, not a conclusion derived from two star counts.
Is wealth after marriage the sum of two Wealth-star counts?
No. Earth is Wealth for Jia, while Water is Wealth for Ji. The two charts’ Wealth roles are not even the same stems, much less amounts of money to add. Neither natal role relationships nor cycle comparisons calculate household income.
For shared resources, discuss actual information: who covers recurring costs, how much time care takes, whether both know about larger plans and what changes when work changes. Income, accounts, debts, rights and obligations require actual records. A chart cannot establish that someone brings wealth or is a burden. This page does not make investment, tax or contract judgments.
Why separate child symbols from plans to have children?
Child-role mappings differ, and the Hour Pillar (the two-symbol column for the birth hour) is also often consulted. Identify the table used in the report. The historical male-chart Officer (the role family that controls the birth-day element, often interpreted through rules and demands) convention above and readings using Output for children should not be mixed into repeated confirmation. An unknown Hour Pillar or an unrevealed star describes missing symbolic information.
Whether the people want children, which family forms they consider, how care might be shared and what resources or concerns exist require their own answers, including uncertainty. A chart cannot determine fertility, child count or pregnancy dates; these names have not observed a body. Actual health questions require the relevant medical information.
Which expectations can be made explicit?
These questions express expectations. They are not a compatibility score or a preset assignment of duties. If views differ, identifying the actual difference is clearer than calling it incompatible charts.
