Are the Twelve Life Stages the Same as Strong or Weak? Different Evidence Units

A Life Stage is one stem–branch category. Strength is a whole-chart assessment. Emperor in the name does not make the Day Master (the birth-day element used as the chart’s reference) strong, and Decline, Illness, Death or Extinction does not delete a real root.

What does each system take as input?

Life Stages need one reference stem, one target branch and a table convention. Strength considers Month Command (the seasonal conditions represented by the birth month), same-phase roots, exposed stems, support, drainage, control, combinations, transformation and actual participation. One is a cell lookup; the other synthesizes evidence.

Why does Jia at Emperor 卯 not settle strength?

Jia at 卯 is Emperor, and 卯 can provide a same-Wood root. The chart still depends on whether 卯 commands the season, whether it is contacted, and what support, drainage and control come from the other stems and branches. Emperor confirms one relation rather than closing the analysis.

Why does Jia at Extinction 申 not reduce Wood to zero?

Jia at 申 returns Extinction, but the branch remains and still contains 庚, 壬 and 戊. Ren Water may participate as Resource (the role family that supports the birth-day element, often interpreted through learning and support), and 申 can form direct contacts. Extinction empties neither the symbols nor their hidden stems (the additional element symbols traditionally assigned inside each lower chart symbol) and cannot establish no ability or opportunity.

How should a report present an apparent conflict?

Report the Life-Stage result and the direct strength evidence separately, then explain which is closer to the current question. Do not assign fixed Emperor points or Extinction deductions to manufacture a precise-looking percentage.
