How Is a Void Clashed? Establish Void, Then Verify One of Six Clashes
A Void clash starts with a calculated Void branch and its true six-clash counterpart appearing in a declared layer. A disruptive story is not a clash. Both branches, their positions and natal or timing context must be identified.
Which branch clashes 戌 and which clashes 亥?
The six clashes are 子午, 丑未, 寅申, 卯酉, 辰戌 and 巳亥. With Jia-Zi xun 戌亥 Void, 辰 contacts only 戌 and 巳 contacts only 亥. One 辰 does not clash both omitted branches.
| Void branch | Opposite | Direct relation |
|---|---|---|
| 戌 | 辰 | 辰–戌 clash |
| 亥 | 巳 | 巳–亥 clash |
Example: natal 辰 versus an annual 辰
If a chart referenced by Day 甲子 already contains 辰, its 辰戌 contact is natal. If 辰 appears only in one year, the contact belongs to that year. Neither moves 甲子 out of its xun nor deletes the phases and hidden stems (the additional element symbols traditionally assigned inside each lower chart symbol) of 辰 or 戌.
Are emergence, filling and dispersal interchangeable?
No. Schools may read the clash as emergence, disturbance, weakening or release, with season, roots, other combinations and timing affecting the result. Report the verified clash first, then label the chosen interpretation rather than hiding disagreement.
Does a Void clash predict conflict, accident or loss?
No. Clash is a Branch-relation term, not a real-world danger diagnosis. Safety, health, relationship, legal and financial decisions belong with current facts.
