How to Avoid Void Calculation Errors: Six Checks with a Jia-Zi Xun

The most common Void problem is not forgetting the table; it is losing the reference Jiazi and derivation. Write which pillar supplies the xun, which xun it is, which two branches are omitted and which branch is being tested. Most errors then become visible.

Write the correct baseline in one line

The example baseline is: Day Pillar (the two-symbol column for the birth day) 甲子 → Jia-Zi xun (甲子 through 癸酉) → 戌亥 Void. A later 戌, 亥, 辰, 巳, 卯 or 寅 returns to this line to test appearance, clash or combination.

Where do six common errors occur?

Each error loses required information or upgrades a traditional condition into a real event. After the corrective action, another reader should be able to reproduce the result from the same input.

How do two input changes alter the result?

Change the reference Day Pillar from 甲子 to 甲戌 and the xun becomes Jia-Xu with 申酉 Void. Keep Day 甲子 but change annual 戊戌 to 己亥; the baseline remains 戌亥 Void while the arriving branch changes from 戌 to 亥. One change alters the lookup, the other alters a participant.

Does a correct calculation become a forecast?

No. Correct calculation establishes a traditional label. Filling, clash and combination add conditions rather than outcomes. Payments, relationships, fertility, treatment, legal and employment results still require real evidence.
