Yuanhai Ziping: Ten Gods, Hidden Stems and Traditional Pattern Names
Yuanhai Ziping is a transmitted collection of Ziping foundations, Ten Gods, patterns and verses. It serves as a map of traditional vocabulary, helping readers trace terms such as Officer, Eating God and hidden stems. Its different literary forms need different reading approaches; a short verse is not always a complete rule.
Why does the book contain both mappings and verses?
Foundation passages identify symbols and roles, pattern discussions examine cooperation, and verses compress judgments for recall. Their omitted conditions may depend on context; one line is insufficient to classify a birth chart.
Online editions may include additions, commentary or rearranged material. Identify the heading and edition where possible rather than assume every transcription with the same title is identical.
Why does a stem’s role change with the Day Master?
The opening separately sets out roles for Jia and Yi. Both are Wood, but their different polarity (whether a symbol is classified as yin or yang) changes the role of the same encountered stem. These three mappings isolate that useful distinction without adopting accompanying family or fortune claims.
| Encountered stem | Jia self | Yi self |
|---|---|---|
| Bing Fire | Eating God | Hurting Officer |
| Xin Metal | Direct Officer | Seven Killings |
| Ren Water | Indirect Resource | Direct Resource |
What should I restore after finding a pattern name?
Identify whether the reference is the self, month or a particular pillar, then recover required stems, exposure and interference. Xin is Officer to Jia, but Xin anywhere in the chart does not establish month selection and whole-chart cooperation.
Read differing passages separately before comparing them. Finding an original passage makes a claim traceable; the book’s title cannot stand in for missing conditions.
What can this book help me understand?
It helps turn a report’s terminology into relations between identified participants. Moving from Ten God mappings to hidden stems and then pattern conditions makes unfamiliar names intelligible.
Historical claims about status, marriage and lifespan belong to their context. Studying how an author reasoned does not make those claims facts about your abilities, relationships or future.
