What Is Lu Ming? Natal-Year, Stem, Branch and Nayin References

Lu Ming is a broad term used for older destiny-reading methods whose texts employ natal-year, stem, branch, Nayin (a separate named element classification for a complete pair of chart symbols), Lu/Horse and pillar-order references. It is not one standardized zodiac or year-Nayin algorithm. Identify what a rule treats as its reference before reading generation, control or combinations, rather than silently substituting later Day-Master (the birth-day element used as the chart’s reference) terminology.

What do Lu, Ming and Shen refer to?

The cited Wuxing Jingji discussion distinguishes stem, branch and Nayin through Lu, Ming and Shen. This explains that passage’s terminology, not every occurrence of the words in every classic.

Geng-Wu provides a concrete contrast: its stem is Metal, its branch Fire, and its Nayin Roadside Earth. These describe different objects. A natal-year Nayin “Earth life” label does not turn the Geng stem into Earth.

How do Lu and Horse arise from the same Geng-Wu reference?

For a basic lookup illustration, use Geng-Wu as the Year Pillar (the two-symbol column for the birth year). Geng’s Lu is at Shen; Wu belongs to the Yin–Wu–Xu group, whose Travel Horse is also Shen. The same result comes from different inputs.

Does Lu and Horse sharing Shen establish wealth or rank?

No. It establishes a shared lookup position. A particular text may also require Shen actually present, a specified stem above it and further conditions, with a Year or Day reference that must be identified.

Two names describing the same Shen are not two independent pieces of real-world evidence. Historical judgments involving office or salary do not directly translate into modern earnings or occupations.

Can one example clarify the difference from Ziping?

A passage taking Geng-Wu’s Earth Nayin as reference discusses that Earth against other Nayin influences. If the person’s Day Stem is Jia, Day-Master roles still use Jia Wood: Geng is Killings and Ji Direct Wealth (a traditional role associated with managing resources and ongoing responsibilities). Year-Nayin Earth cannot replace Jia in that role table.

List each reference, object and purpose rather than argue that a person must belong to only one element. One birth record can support several classifications; the interpretation must be examined within each layer.

Does age establish which method is more accurate?

Age and textual completeness are not accuracy measures. Transmitted material can include later editing and commentary, so a later printed edition does not necessarily reproduce an entire earlier method unchanged.

Studying these methods traces an interpretation’s origin and conditions. For a personal report, distinguishing Day Master, zodiac branch and Nayin already resolves many apparent contradictions.
