Yang Blade Pattern: Month-Branch Table, Meaning and Control
The Yang Blade Pattern examines how concentrated month-based strength is directed. This page uses the common five-Yang-stem convention and requires the Blade position in the Month Branch (the lower symbol in the birth-month column). A Blade marker elsewhere does not by itself establish the pattern.
Why does Blade describe concentrated force?
The blade metaphor describes concentrated force that calls for suitable direction; it says nothing about weapons or harming others. Historical spellings and the inclusion of Yin stems vary, so the adopted table must be explicit.
For reflection, consider whether strong motivation comes with boundaries and a sustainable pace. Initiative, stubbornness, courage and impulsiveness cannot be assigned from the name.
Month-Branch starting points for the five Yang stems
This is the five-Yang-stem convention. Yin stems can still have strong roots; their Emperor stages, month Rob Wealth (a traditional role associated with shared resources, cooperation and competition) and alternative Yin-Blade tables should not be silently inserted here.
| Day Master | Blade Month Branch | Compare: Lu Month Branch |
|---|---|---|
| Jia 甲 | 卯 | 寅 |
| Bing 丙 | 午 | 巳 |
| Wu 戊 | 午 | 巳 |
| Geng 庚 | 酉 | 申 |
| Ren 壬 | 子 | 亥 |
How does Jia in Mao differ from Jia in Yin?
Jia’s Lu is Yin 寅 and its Blade is Mao 卯. Jia in Mao supplies this table’s Blade basis, with hidden Yi as Rob Wealth. Jia in Yin supplies a Jian Lu basis, with main stem Jia as Peer (a traditional role associated with independence and relationships among equals). Mao only in the hour, with You as month, is first an Hour Blade marker.
Not every month Rob Wealth condition equals this five-Yang-stem table. Some reports call month-led Rob Wealth “Month Blade.” That label overlaps with this convention without necessarily matching it exactly; compare the actual stem and branch.
How do Seven Killings control and Output release work?
For Jia, Geng Seven Killings (a traditional role associated with challenge, pressure and decisive action) supplies Metal control of Wood, while Bing and Ding Output (the role family produced by the birth-day element, often interpreted through expression and activity) receive Wood as Fire. A strong Wood month can prompt examination of restraint or release. Geng appearing does not prove successful control, nor Fire appearing completed release.
Unsupported or restrained Geng may control too little; excessive Geng with damaged Wood roots raises another imbalance. Mao–You clash requires an account of the affected root, not a leap to accidents or surgery.
Is a Blade Pattern inherently more adverse?
An intense name does not establish elevated real-world danger. It identifies a starting condition in the month; roots, control and other relations still require interpretation. It cannot assess crime, illness or lifespan.
The useful distinction is between a Blade-position marker, a month-based Blade structure and a demonstrated control route. Keeping those three claims separate makes the term understandable.
Why does Jia’s Mao-month Blade with Geng still need context?
Consider synthetic Wu-Shen Year, Yi-Mao Month, Jia-Zi Day and Geng-Wu Hour, with consistent pairings. Under this guide’s five-Yang-stem table, Jia’s Blade is Mao, here in the Month Branch. Yi is Rob Wealth and is exposed from Mao into the Month Stem (the upper symbol in the birth-month column). Establish that monthly basis before discussing Blade Pattern.
Geng Killings is visible in the Hour and rooted in Year Shen, adding evidence beyond an unsupported stem. Yet Month Yi and Hour Geng have a Five-Combination relationship, while Ding in Wu can restrain Geng. Presence alone does not prove usable control.
Zi/Mao are a punishment pair and Zi/Wu clash. These are actual relationships, not independent danger points to add up. Examine how roots, Resource (the role family that supports the birth-day element, often interpreted through learning and support) and the controlling influence participate under the stated method. Blade, Killings and punishment/clash labels establish neither aggression nor injury.
